On Sunday, November 5th, 2017, I will be embarking on my 10th NYC Marathon and my 27th marathon overall!
More importantly, it will be my 9th year running on Team Animal League, savings lives on behalf of North Shore Animal League America, the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization.
Once again, I'll be running my 26.2 on behalf of those less fortunate. Due to the hurricanes in Texas and Florida this year, thousands of pets were displaced when their owners lost their homes.
Shortly after Harvey and Irma made landfall, our Emergency Rescue Units left Long Island loaded with food, water, cat litter, carriers, blankets, plastic bags, towels, paper goods, and basic medical supplies, all donated to help our shelter partners cope with catastrophe. (Later, we welcomed puppies and dogs from the Turks and Caicos Islands, which suffered damage from both Irma and Maria.)
Only through your generosity can we continue to help both families and pets alike.
