Thank you for visiting my Team Animal League page! I'm running the 2017 TCS NYC Marathon in support of North Shore Animal League America and all the homeless animals they rescue, nurture and adopt into loving, responsible homes.
You can help me cross the finish line by donating to my run today. Whatever you can give is truly appreciated and will go towards saving more than 18,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens every year.
I hope you'll join me on this journey and spread the word to your family and friends.
I've got my rescue on, do you? Donate today!

First Training Run Complete
Thank you all who have donated so far. I still have a long way to go but I'm excited to keep going.
This past Sunday I ran in the 6th annual Austin 10/20. It is a 10 mile race in North Austin, with bands set up every 1/2 mile to keep the runners and spectators entertained. Additionally they have a headliner after the race put on a free concert for everyone. It is probably my favorite race series, apart from a few marathons that I have taken place in. I was able to finish in 1:38:19 for a 9:50 pace. The last few miles slowed down my 10k pace of 9:39, but I did stay under 10 minutes per mile. Unfortunately, because The Domain has become too expensive of a location, they have stated this will be the last one for the foreseeable future. I'll have to find a new race to partake in every year.
I plan to continue working on speed 2 days a week, and work on distance 1-2 days more, in addition to strength training. I want to make sure I am in the best shape possible (besides round) for November.
Again, please share this cause with friends and family. I will train hard to try to make every one of you proud. And we will all work together to make a difference for the fur babies in our communities that can't speak up for themselves.

So excited to get started!
I'm so excited to be doing this! With your help, not only do I get to run in The New York Marathon (Holy Crap!) but I get to raise money to help our animals who can't help themselves.
All three of our girls are rescues. Our first, Chrissy (black lab-terrier), we rescued from Guadalupe County Humane Society almost 13 years ago, when she was just 4 months old. You can see the grey creeping in her sweet face. We decided to adopt Rose (tan Min-Pin mix) a little over a year later. She was actually born in PAWS of Kyle. And after YEARS of being told a third really isn't that different from having two (damn you Andrew and Jessica Wright), we decided to join the Itty Bitty Pitty Committee by rescuing Lana (brown pit mix) from Austin Pets Alive.
Jen and I can't imagine our lives without any one of them. For this reason we have dedicated countless hours to working with and for Austin Pets Alive to try to better the lives of our pawed friends in our home city. And now I get the chance to try to do similar work for those in the New York Area! Please help me on my journey. I'll be posting updates as often as I can.
