Thank you for visiting my fundraiser! My name is Jessica Spector, and I am a 20-year-old burn survivor. This fund is in memory of my lizard Frey who died months after I got into a major accident and had to undergo emergency surgery to save my arm and my life. I now have a scar from the operation that resembles Frey on the opposite arm where I always held her. When I was in the hospital, I could advocate for myself and understand the risks and complications of my procedures. But what about animals? Doctors talk to the families of the animals, but neither the family nor the doctors can never truly know an animal's experience and pain.
This fund allows you to change the narrative on burned animals’ hospital experience and outpatient recovery. I hope that with your help, no animal will be overlooked or given up because a family or hospital cannot afford to save their life. It is our job to speak up and show up for animals. Their mental and physical well-being should be a priority. The healing journey does not end when animals leave the hospital; it is forever.
Please help me carry on Frey’s legacy by donating today to help animal burn survivors. This fund is established through North Shore Animal League to provide hope and assistance to burn patient animals and their families through challenging times.
This fund is for Frey Rose Spector, who did not die in vain.
Much love,
Jessica
