I will be running in the 2013 ING Hartford Marathon in Hartford , CT on Saturday October 12th in support of North Shore Animal League America 's biggest expansion in history: Bianca's Furry Friends, a 14,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Feline Adoption & Wellness Center named in honor of my friend Beth Stern's beloved dog.
Beth and the team at North Shore Animal League were instrumental in helping me happily settle Max, an adopted 16-year old deaf cat who was displaced from the only home he ever knew into our welcoming, yet chaotic household. Max and I hope we can count on your support.
Since 1944, North Shore Animal League America has been working to rescue, nurture and adopt pets into permanent, loving homes. To date, they have rescued over 1,000,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
Bianca's Furry Friends will also include an advanced Wellness Center ; a 24-hour-care feline Nursery exclusively for pregnant and nursing mama cats and their newborn litters; a Surgical Center ; and more.
